Born and brought up in the vibrant state of Assam, my inner explorer sought new horizons, leading me to pursue Mass Communication. During my MA, I uncovered communication's indispensable yet subtle role in shaping a society. My dissertation ethnographically studied river island Majuli's musical traditions, revealing transitions in response to evolution in communication technologies.
Professionally, I have produced interviews spreading financial literacy and edited news worthy for broadcast. These experiences widened my perspectives on mass media’s dimensions. In addition, I synthesised industry insights with theory as a Mass Communication faculty.
Currently, I am pursuing a PhD that brings together food-based communicative practices, sustainability, folklore in Northeast India, with a focus on culinary memory, cultural transmission, and indigenous knowledge systems. My research explores how everyday food cultures serve as vessels of identity, resilience, and intergenerational wisdom—particularly within the changing socio-environmental landscape of Arunachal Pradesh.
I wish to read, understand, learn and collaborate on the following themes:
- Intercultural Communication
- Intergenerational Communication
- Food Studies
- Indigenous Knowledge Systems
- Identity in North East India
Happy to connect and collaborate!
